Day
Arrival in Tanzania & Transfer to Moshi
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by your mountain guide and transferred to Moshi for your overnight stay. After check-in at the hotel, you will have time to relax and recover from your journey. Later in the day, your guide will conduct a detailed Kilimanjaro climbing briefing, including a gear check and full overview of the Marangu Route. This is an important moment to ask questions and ensure you are fully prepared for your climb to Uhuru Peak.

Marangu Gate → Mandara Hut
After breakfast at your hotel in Moshi, your guide and mountain crew will transfer you to Marangu Gate (1,860m), where you will complete park registration and start your climb. The trail passes through lush rainforest filled with giant trees, birds, and monkeys. The hike is steady and scenic as you enter Kilimanjaro’s lower forest zone. Upon arrival at Mandara Hut, your crew will prepare hot meals and ensure your comfortable overnight stay.

Mandara Hut → Horombo Hut
After breakfast, you will leave the rainforest and enter the moorland zone with wide views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The vegetation becomes more open, and the air cooler as you gain altitude. This is a longer trekking day but offers excellent acclimatization opportunities. You will arrive at Horombo Hut where dinner and overnight rest will be provided.

Day
Day 4: Acclimatization Day at Horombo Hut
Today is dedicated to acclimatization, an important part of improving your chances of reaching the summit successfully. After breakfast, you will take a guided acclimatization hike towards Zebra Rocks or a higher elevation point before returning to Horombo Hut. This short trek helps your body adjust to the altitude while offering impressive views of the surrounding landscape. The remainder of the day can be spent relaxing, hydrating, and preparing for the higher elevations ahead.

Horombo Hut → Kibo Hut
After breakfast, you will leave the moorland zone and enter the alpine desert region of Kilimanjaro. The trail crosses the Saddle, a vast high-altitude plateau located between Mawenzi Peak and Kibo Peak. The landscape becomes more rugged and barren, creating a dramatic contrast to the lush scenery of previous days. Upon arrival at Kibo Hut, your guide will provide a detailed summit briefing while you enjoy an early dinner and prepare for the midnight ascent.

Kibo Hut → Uhuru Peak → Horombo Hut
Shortly after midnight, you will begin your summit attempt under a sky filled with stars. The climb is challenging as you make your way to Gilman’s Point before continuing along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. Reaching the summit at sunrise is an unforgettable experience, offering breathtaking views above the clouds. After celebrating your achievement and taking photographs, you will descend to Kibo Hut for a short rest before continuing down to Horombo Hut for dinner and a well-deserved night's sleep.

Horombo Hut → Marangu Gate → Moshi
After breakfast, you will begin your final descent through the moorland and rainforest zones back to Marangu Gate. The trail offers one last opportunity to enjoy Kilimanjaro’s diverse vegetation and mountain scenery. Upon arrival at the gate, you will receive your summit certificate and complete park exit formalities. You will then be transferred back to Moshi, where you can enjoy a hot shower, celebrate your achievement, and reflect on your successful Kilimanjaro climb.

Departure Day
After breakfast at your hotel in Moshi, you can relax and enjoy your final hours in Tanzania before your airport transfer. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for souvenir shopping or exploring Moshi town. Our team will then transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight. If you wish, you can extend your adventure with a Tanzania safari, Zanzibar beach holiday, or other travel experiences.
