DAY 0: ARRIVAL IN MOSHI

Activity: Airport Pick-Up & Hotel Check-InArrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where our team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi. Take this day to relax, meet your guide, and prepare for your Kilimanjaro adventure.

DAY 1: MACHAME GATE – MACHAME CAMP

Your Kilimanjaro climb begins after breakfast with a drive to Machame Gate. Following registration, you’ll trek through the lush rainforest, surrounded by the sounds of wildlife and towering trees. Enjoy the cool, shaded path before arriving at Machame Camp in the late afternoon.

DAY 2: MACHAME CAMP – SHIRA CAMP

Today, you’ll leave the rainforest behind as the trail ascends into the moorlands. The terrain becomes more rugged, and you’ll enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding landscape. Arriving at Shira Plateau, you’ll camp with stunning vistas of Kibo Peak in the distance.

• Elevation: 2,850 m to 3,750 m (9,350 ft to 12,300 ft)

• Distance: 5 km (3 miles)

• Hiking Time: 4-6 hours

• Habitat: Moorland

DAY 3: SHIRA CAMP – BARRANCO CAMP (via Lava Tower)

Start your day with a gradual ascent, reaching the Lava Tower at 4,600 meters. Here, you’ll stop for lunch and acclimatize at this higher altitude before descending to Barranco Camp. The day provides a great opportunity for acclimatization, preparing you for the higher altitudes ahead.

• Elevation: 3,750 m to 4,600 m (12,300 ft to 15,090 ft), then descend to 3,950 m (13,044 ft)

• Distance: 10 km (6 miles)

• Hiking Time: 6-8 hours

• Habitat: Alpine Desert

DAY 4: BARRANCO CAMP – KARANGA CAMP

Today begins with the challenging but rewarding climb of the Barranco Wall. While steep, it’s non-technical and offers some of the best panoramic views on the route. You’ll trek through an alpine desert to Karanga Camp, where you’ll rest and prepare for the summit push.

• Distance: 5 km (3 miles)

• Hiking Time: 4-5 hours

• Habitat: Alpine Desert

DAY 5: KARANGA CAMP – BARAFU CAMP

This is a relatively short but steep climb to Barafu Camp, where you’ll set up for the final ascent to the summit. Spend the afternoon resting, having a hearty dinner, and preparing your gear for the midnight trek to Uhuru Peak.

• Elevation: 4,050 m to 4,670 m (13,290 ft to 15,330 ft)

• Distance: 4 km (2 miles)

• Hiking Time: 4-5 hours

• Habitat: Alpine Desert

DAY 6: BARAFU CAMP – UHURU PEAK – MWEKA CAMP

Around midnight, you’ll begin your final ascent to the summit. The climb is long and demanding, but witnessing the sunrise at Uhuru Peak (Africa's highest point) is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. After some time at the summit, you’ll descend to Mweka Camp for much-needed rest.

• Elevation: 4,670 m to 5,895 m (15,330 ft to 19,341 ft), then descend to 3,100 m (10,170 ft)

• Distance: 17 km (11 miles)

• Hiking Time: 10-14 hours (Summit Day)

• Habitat: Arctic Zone

DAY 7: MWEKA CAMP – MWEKA GATE – MOSHI

After breakfast, descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificate. From there, you'll be transferred back to Moshi to celebrate your successful Kilimanjaro adventure.

• Elevation: 3,100 m to 1,640 m (10,170 ft to 5,380 ft)

• Distance: 10 km (6 miles)

• Hiking Time: 3-4 hours
